Recipe Thursdays...

almost!!

I know that it has been about...hmm, let's see... 20 years since I posted a recipe but I thought this one was worth posting. I made this tonight in honor of one of my co-teacher's birthdays. It was pretty good! I would serve with sweeter fruit as the tart ones might not be as good.

Basic Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
3 T sugar--I modified here adding 5 additional tablespoonfuls! :)
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy.

the beauty of saturday afternoons...

I too enjoyed one of these today...even after waking up past 9 this morning. It was needed and I awoke thanking the Lord for such refreshment and the time for a nap!

P.S. I LOVE these kids!!! It is amazing to me that they are on the couch napping! They never are!! They have so much energy--it is unbelievable!

Fall is Officially Here!

With the rain today and the gloomy skies, fall has made itself known! It is officially here! The events of this weekend have been perfect to ring in this new season.

Here is a little rundown:

* High school football last night while bundled up in blankets.
* Late night season catch up & spend over with Kristin.
* The smell of good coffee brewing just as I was waking up!
* Good conversation w/Mrs. Howard this morning.
* Driving in the rain early am with no one on the road.
* Pumpkin break with Amber!!
* Shopping in the rain w/such a faithful friend.
* PUMPKIN Golden Spoon.
* Freshly baked treats cooling as I came home this afternoon.
* Faithful conversation in the car while it rained outside!
* Care package preparation this evening! Love it!
* Now cozy on the couch grading papers w/a movie on!!

The only thing missing was a pumpkin spice latte--maybe tomorrow!! I am super excited about the next few months. I do enjoy for a short while a season of colder weather, rain and earlier nights at home! It is in January where I start to get a little antsy for the summer sun again! For now, I will enjoy what is before me with such a thankful heart.
